Role Overview
As the Security & Loss Prevention (SLP) Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a dedicated team to protect personnel, assets, and stock. Ensuring strict adherence to security policies and operational protocols at the site is a primary function.
Key Duties
- Guide, mentor, and oversee the daily activities of the Security & Loss Prevention team.
- Supervise all security-related operations and enforce compliance with company procedures.
- Lead investigations regarding security breaches, inventory discrepancies, theft, fraud, and policy violations; prepare comprehensive reports.
- Identify patterns in losses and collaborate to create strategies to minimize shrinkage and mitigate operational risks.
- Work in partnership with Operations, Human Resources, Facilities, and other departments to address security concerns.
- Manage access controls, CCTV surveillance, and physical security arrangements across the facility.
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments to spot vulnerabilities.
- Ensure immediate reporting and escalation of security incidents and emergencies.
- Support inventory management processes, including stock verification and loss prevention efforts.
- Train team members on security protocols, incident management, and compliance standards.
- Maintain complete and confidential security documentation and logs.
- Promote continuous improvements to enhance site security and operational effectiveness.
Qualifications & Experience
- A bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or similar disciplines.
- Between three to five years’ experience in Security, Loss Prevention, or Asset Protection, including at least one year in a supervisory role.
- In-depth understanding of security operations, investigative processes, risk evaluations, and loss prevention techniques.
- Hands-on experience with CCTV and access control systems plus incident management.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to manage complex security situations.
- Excellent leadership qualities and capability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and reporting tools.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-moving operational setting.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays as necessary.
- Relevant professional security certifications will be considered a plus.
