Role Overview

Join Stats NZ's critical transformation programme dedicated to developing a modern, scalable Census Processing System that supports New Zealand's future data demands and integrated data strategy. This fixed-term position is available through to 30 June 2027, located in Christchurch.

As Scrum Master, you'll collaborate with product owners, architects, analysts, engineers, data professionals, and senior stakeholders to promote Agile methodologies, eliminate obstacles, and enable teams to achieve valuable results. You'll have the chance to lead multiple workstreams, influence delivery at scale, and cultivate a culture of learning, collaboration, and innovation.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrable leadership in Agile delivery involving complex, multi-disciplinary teams.
• Expertise in Scrum and scaled Agile frameworks such as Nexus or Scrum-of-Scrums.
• Skilled coaching abilities to nurture high-performing, self-organizing teams and drive ongoing improvement.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing across organizational levels.
• Proficient in planning, prioritizing, and managing dependencies across diverse workstreams.
• Experience leveraging delivery metrics and insights for transparency, decision-making, and success.
• Collaborative and proactive approach with a passion for value delivery in dynamic settings.
• Awareness of Te Tiriti o Waitangi with commitment to enhancing cultural responsiveness and Māori engagement.

Salary

The starting salary range is $90,599 to $122,575 plus KiwiSaver contributions.
