Role overview
Canadian Blood Services is hiring a regular full-time Scheduler/Timekeeper for its Collections Operations West team in Regina, Saskatchewan. This position supports donor blood collection operations by organizing staffing coverage, coordinating schedules, and handling related timekeeping tasks in line with internal policies and operational needs.
Work arrangement and schedule
This role is set up as a hybrid position. The selected candidate must work partly on-site and partly off-site, with an expectation of being in person for at least 50% of working time. The exact balance may change depending on operational requirements. The normal hours for this job are Monday to Friday, 0700 to 1500. The role is classified as regular full-time with a 1.0 FTE and SEIU 299 - REG classification.
Key duties
- Review staffing needs and coordinate with managers and supervisors to support day-to-day operational demand.
- Build, update, and adjust work schedules while following collective agreement rules.
- Arrange coverage for sick calls and keep department vacation schedules current.
- Handle timekeeping and payroll-related tasks for Supply Chain employees.
- Maintain precise records and complete other related duties as needed.
Qualifications and experience
Applicants should have post-secondary education in a relevant field from a recognized institution. The employer is looking for at least three years of scheduling experience in a similar role, ideally in a regulated setting. Strong proficiency with Word and Excel is required, along with solid computer literacy, especially in a Windows environment and Microsoft Outlook. Excel testing will be part of the selection process.
The role also calls for strong analytical and deductive thinking, excellent written and verbal communication, customer service skills, interpersonal effectiveness, and the ability to stay organized while managing several priorities in a busy environment. High accuracy, close attention to detail, and strict confidentiality around employee information are essential. Experience with SAP would be considered an advantage.
