Role Summary

The Risk Lead will own the design, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance of the company’s risk management framework. This person will help ensure that risk exposures remain within the approved risk appetite, are tracked continuously, and are managed using effective controls and measurement practices that meet regulatory expectations and shareholder requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional stakeholders to shape the organization’s overall risk strategy.
• Build and evolve the risk management framework, policies, risk appetite statement, and related limits.
• Create procedures that support the company’s operational and financial goals through effective risk handling.
• Develop and roll out risk methodologies, tools, techniques, and programs across the business to address operational, credit, financial, reputational, and cyber security risks.
• Conduct risk assessments and analysis for business functions and newly launched products.
• Evaluate risk exposure in strategic projects and review documents such as policies, procedures, agreements, and system implementation initiatives.
• Set up continuous monitoring mechanisms, including early warning indicators and key risk indicators.
• Maintain a comprehensive risk register covering internal and external threats.
• Put in place processes for reporting operational risk incidents, analyzing related losses, and tracking corrective actions.
• Run ongoing risk awareness initiatives and help strengthen a strong risk-aware culture across the company.
• Ensure risk transfer approaches, including mandatory or optional insurance coverage, align with the company’s risk strategy.
• Coordinate with functional leaders to build, maintain, and improve risk management capabilities.
• Develop risk reporting that aligns with local and international regulations as well as board and senior management oversight requirements.
• Strengthen and implement business continuity planning across business lines and critical functions, working closely with technology and cyber security teams.
• Stay current with new developments in risk management methods, frameworks, and tools.
• Handle ad hoc assignments for regulators, committees, and senior leadership.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in risk management, preferably within the financial sector.
• A bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Actuarial studies, or another relevant field.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment, controls, and analytical methods.
• Familiarity with SAMA compliance standards and regulatory requirements.
• Proven project management ability.
• Good command of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, as well as G-Suite tools.
