Role overview

CREGG is recruiting a Project Manager for a permanent position with a multinational medical device business in Galway. The role suits a seasoned delivery-focused professional who can steer complex innovation programmes from early concept through launch and into post-launch improvement.

You will work across a broad product mix that includes Class II medical devices, wellness products, nutritional supplements, and cosmetics. The position involves coordinating strategy, schedules, and execution across multiple functions while keeping business goals, compliance needs, quality standards, and commercial targets aligned. It also carries people leadership duties, including coaching and developing project team members and helping build a collaborative, high-performing environment.

Key responsibilities

Lead several end-to-end product development programmes and ensure progress from concept stage to global market launch.

Turn business priorities into practical project plans, timelines, and delivery roadmaps.

Define scope, objectives, deliverables, and success measures that support strategic goals.

Manage budgets, staffing needs, and forecasting across a changing portfolio of products.

Support and direct project teams to maintain strong delivery standards.

Provide clear executive updates and help keep stakeholders aligned on decisions and progress.

Create and maintain integrated plans covering technical, regulatory, quality, supply chain, and commercial workstreams.

Drive stage-gate movement and track delivery against agreed milestones and deadlines.

Work closely with Engineering, Regulatory, Quality, Marketing, Supply Chain, and external partners.

Keep project execution aligned with business cases and launch plans.

Build accountability across functions for milestone completion and deliverable ownership.

Identify risks, delays, and resourcing issues early and escalate them where needed.

Track dependencies and critical-path activities to protect delivery momentum.

Run governance meetings, programme reviews, and leadership updates in a structured way.

Make sure key decisions are recorded and shared effectively.

Fold regulatory planning into project timelines to support submissions across global markets.

Ensure project records are complete, audit-ready, and compliant with stage-gate requirements.

Align development plans with multi-market quality and regulatory expectations.

Support design control activities in line with industry standards and compliance frameworks.

Spot and manage delivery risks so projects stay on track.

Handle changes to scope, supplier inputs, and regulatory requirements with control and clarity.

Work with Quality teams on formal change control processes.

Oversee sustaining engineering work and post-launch product updates when required.

Partner with product owners and commercial teams to prepare for market launch.

Support handover from new product development into ongoing lifecycle management.

Review completed projects and capture lessons learned to improve future delivery.

Collaborate with international teams across different time zones and be available for occasional meetings outside normal hours.

Keep up to date with industry developments, emerging technologies, and changing regulatory expectations affecting new product development.

Travel up to 10% each year for vendor meetings, strategic planning, or market insight activities.

Contribute to other business priorities and ad hoc initiatives as needed.

Experience and qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or a related discipline is required.

At least 4 years of experience managing complex, cross-functional product development programmes is expected.

Experience in regulated sectors such as medical devices, wellness, supplements, cosmetics, or similar industries is important.

You should have managed multiple projects at the same time in a fast-moving environment.

A solid understanding of product development lifecycle models and design control processes is needed.

PMP, PRINCE2, or a similar project management certification is preferred.
