Restaurant Utility Worker

Role Overview

Zaxbys is looking for a Restaurant Utility Worker to help keep the restaurant clean, safe, and operating smoothly. This role supports the upkeep of both the building and equipment through routine cleaning, deep-cleaning tasks, and basic preventive maintenance.

What the Job Involves

• Complete all required training assigned by Zax LLC.
• Help maintain a safe, tidy, and well-kept restaurant environment.
• Handle scheduled and unscheduled cleaning duties, along with basic maintenance tasks.
• Carry out routine cleaning and preventive upkeep on restaurant equipment.
• Check, run, or test equipment to identify problems and malfunctions.
• Address minor lighting concerns and similar small repair needs.
• Perform general cleaning work, including deep cleaning and pressure washing inside and outside the location.
• Read and follow equipment manuals and work orders as needed.
• Inspect grounds, plumbing, electrical fixtures, outlets, kitchen equipment, and the building regularly to catch issues early.
• Complete basic repairs when needed.
• Understand and apply safety instructions, operating procedures, and related documents.
• Keep maintenance logs accurate, organized, and up to date.
• Follow all Zaxby’s Franchising LLC and Zax LLC standards, policies, and procedures.
• Work in a safe manner and comply with all safety rules.
• Stay flexible and be willing to take on work beyond the usual scope of the role when needed.
• Report human resources and risk-related concerns immediately to the General Manager and District Manager.
• Escalate other issues to the supervisor when appropriate.
• Handle any additional duties required to keep restaurant operations running properly.

Schedule and Availability

• Full-time team members must be available for 32 to 40 hours per week.
• The schedule may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable transportation is required.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk continuously.
• May need to stoop, bend, crouch, or climb, including using ladders.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting.
• Requires ongoing use of hands and wrists for gripping and precise movement.
• Needs the ability to communicate clearly through speaking, reading, and writing.
• Must be able to notice and respond to the environment using audio and visual awareness.
• Work may take place indoors and outdoors, with exposure to hot and cold temperatures and food or outdoor allergens.
• Must be able to work safely around restaurant equipment, including knives, fryers, and other potentially hazardous tools and machines.
