Position Overview
The company seeks a Research Associate I to join their Biology R&D team. This role involves collaborating with a cross-functional group of scientists to support and validate fluorescence-based cellular assays and research tools. The core duties entail performing cell-based experiments and ensuring quality control of equipment by following established or adapted methodologies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute ion channel and various cell-based assays vital for product validation and development, utilizing fluorescence-based technologies and sophisticated instruments.
- Maintain mammalian cell cultures using aseptic techniques and prepare assay plates for experimentation.
- Generate graphical data displays, reports, and presentations to communicate experimental outcomes.
- Contribute to experimental design, modifying and planning procedures as necessary.
- Work collaboratively with fellow scientists to fulfill research objectives.
- Carry out routine laboratory upkeep, including equipment maintenance, cleanliness, and preparation of reagents and solutions.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor’s or Associate degree in life sciences or bioengineering.
- At least one year of experience in a BSL-2 lab environment with expertise in mammalian cell culture techniques.
- Preferred experience in utilizing plate readers and fluorescent dyes for cell-based assays.
