About the role
This opportunity is for an Operations Event Coordinator to join the Operations Event Team at Neste’s refinery in Tuas, Singapore. The position is centered on preparing and coordinating refinery activities for safe turnarounds and other operational events. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners, while working in a fast-moving environment where independence, adaptability, and self-drive are essential.

What you will do
- Lead the planning, preparation, and execution of operational events, including resource planning for assigned units.
- Coordinate turnarounds, unit shutdowns, major maintenance work such as tank inspections and absorbent changes, and pre-commissioning or initial start-up activities for capital projects.
- Act as a backup member of the event team for turnarounds and shutdowns.
- Monitor turnaround and shutdown execution, guide shift teams, and report progress.
- Serve as the operations contact for third parties and suppliers involved in event preparation and execution, as assigned by the Operations Event Lead.
- Help improve shutdown, start-up, and clearing work instructions for the assigned area.
- Review, correct, and refine assigned Operations NMS work procedures.
- Check shift team shutdown instructions to ensure the full scope is captured.
- Communicate event-related requirements and train shift teams accordingly.
- Work in close coordination with both internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- A diploma in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least one of the following combinations of education and supervisory experience in a petrochemical or refinery environment: Polytechnic Diploma with 3 years of supervisory experience, Higher NITEC with 5 years of supervisory experience, or GCE O-Level with 8 years of supervisory experience.
- Strong ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with limited supervision.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working through change.
- Experience working with stakeholders across internal teams and external partners.
- Willingness to complete a health examination, including a drug test, and undergo security clearance with consent.
Selection process
The hiring process may include interviews and a possible aptitude assessment. The selected candidate must pass a medical examination, including drug screening, and security clearance will be obtained with the candidate’s consent.
