About the role
AWCON is seeking a skilled Recruitment Advisor to support the hiring of talent across its corporate, project, and operational teams. This is a hands-on recruitment role within a fast-expanding Australian civil construction business that works on major mining, energy, infrastructure, and heavy industry projects.
You will own your own set of vacancies and work closely with hiring managers to deliver recruitment outcomes from initial briefing through to offer and onboarding. The role also contributes to workforce planning, talent building, employer branding, and process improvement as the business continues to grow nationally.
This position suits a recruitment or talent acquisition professional who enjoys working in a busy environment, building strong working relationships, and making a direct impact on hiring success.

What you'll do
- Manage a personal portfolio of vacancies from the first role discussion through to acceptance of the offer
- Work with hiring managers to clarify hiring needs and provide practical recruitment guidance
- Create and implement sourcing approaches to identify strong candidates
- Post vacancies on SEEK, LinkedIn, and other relevant recruitment channels
- Review applications, screen candidates, and conduct interviews against job criteria
- Organise interviews and keep candidates informed throughout the process
- Handle offer discussions and support successful onboarding
- Develop and maintain talent pools for current and future roles
- Ensure a strong experience for both candidates and hiring managers
- Keep recruitment records accurate and up to date in the Applicant Tracking System
- Support employer branding, recruitment projects, and ongoing process improvements
What we're looking for
- Background in end-to-end recruitment in either an agency or internal talent acquisition setting
- Ability to juggle several vacancies at once across different job types
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management capability
- Experience finding, interviewing, and managing candidates through the recruitment cycle
- Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to handle competing priorities
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort using applicant tracking systems and recruitment tools
- A proactive, problem-solving approach with a mindset for improvement
- Experience in construction, engineering, mining, infrastructure, or industrial recruitment is advantageous but not required
