Position Overview
Join Fortrea's Proposal Management team as a Proposal Manager I, where you will play a vital role in generating new business prospects. You will be responsible for managing the entire proposal lifecycle, collaborating with various teams to craft customized, high-quality client responses including budgets, timelines, and written proposals. This dynamic and cooperative role requires coordination with internal experts, external suppliers, and senior global stakeholders to create persuasive and competitive proposals that advance business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of the appropriate proposal process (text, budget, quotes, RFI responses) for assigned opportunities, ensuring timelines and client requirements are met under general supervision.
- Handle opportunities of low to medium complexity, including integrated proposals spanning multiple business units.
- Review and analyze RFIs and RFPs, identifying required information for budget and proposal preparation and obtaining additional details as necessary.
- Resolve queries concerning client requests and Fortrea's capabilities with support, and coordinate strategic and operational meetings related to opportunities.
- Lead cross-organizational collaboration across various time zones and locations to complete deliverables efficiently.
- Engage with third-party vendors or vendor managers to gather quotes and relevant information.
- Produce high-quality, accurate documents aligned with agreed strategies and sponsor expectations, adapting to changing deadlines.
- Support negotiations involving pricing, processes, resources, and timelines for opportunity management.
- Ensure punctual delivery of all assigned tasks and update pertinent databases and systems accurately.
- Assist with client and senior management interactions tied to opportunities, including preparation and participation in meetings.
- Maintain awareness of technical and regulatory environments and seek improvements in process quality and efficiency.
- Contribute to client relation improvement initiatives, quality control activities, and hosting inbound sales client visits.
- Coordinate onboarding procedures for new employees working closely with management to ensure a smooth transition.
- Contribute updates and new materials to the content library following official submission protocols.
- Execute other duties as assigned by management that require similar expertise and are aligned with business needs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience; relevant equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Prior exposure to budget and/or text development within a CRO or pharmaceutical environment is essential.
- Strong customer service skills, meticulous attention to detail, and persistence balanced with tactfulness.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with proposal management software such as Salesforce.com, Qvidian, or other automation tools is preferred.
- Skilled in text editing and business-writing tailored to team or unit standards.
- Demonstrated ability in planning, multitasking, and prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Excellent teamwork, verbal and written communication, and organizational capabilities.
- Capable of independent work and meeting tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical thinking and effective communication with stakeholders, clients, and senior management.
- Positive mindset with a strong sense of urgency and willingness to collaborate across business units.
- Flexibility to work irregular or extended hours to meet client proposal deadlines and participate in meetings across multiple time zones.
