Job Overview
The Project Design Co-Ordinator plays a key role in ensuring the design and engineering aspects of construction projects are coordinated efficiently with architects and consultants. This position involves detailed study and revision of design drawings, issuing final drawings for execution, and ensuring that all design efforts meet technical, regulatory, and quality standards to facilitate smooth project delivery.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and validate architectural, structural, and MEP drawings ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety practices, and local regulations.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and MEP consultants to resolve technical discrepancies and finalize drawings for project execution.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, site engineers, and contractors to provide technical support during construction phases.
- Review shop drawings to ensure consistency with approved designs and monitor project progress to tackle design-related challenges promptly.
- Oversee compliance with building codes, zoning laws, and statutory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct site visits to verify that execution aligns with the design intent and maintain quality standards, suggesting improvements when necessary.
- Manage detailed documentation of drawings, revisions, and technical correspondence to maintain clear records.
- Provide value engineering input by recommending cost-effective design solutions that do not compromise quality, assisting in budget management and cost control.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- More than 7 years of hands-on experience in construction and real estate development projects.
- Strong proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction processes and coordination between structural, architectural, and MEP disciplines.
- Well-versed with local building codes, approval processes, and regulatory compliance.
Preferred Experience
- Previous exposure to residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments is desirable.
