Role Overview

We are seeking a Program Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of satellite programs—from contract award through launch and mission operations. This leadership role demands coordination across engineering, manufacturing, testing, launch, and operational units to ensure the program meets technical specifications, schedule milestones, financial targets, and customer expectations.

The position is based in Denver, Colorado, requiring primarily on-site work with occasional travel to our European headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead satellite program management including build, integration, testing, and deployment phases.
  • Coordinate technical trade-offs, manage risks, communicate with suppliers, allocate resources, and control budgets.
  • Oversee the complete program lifecycle including proposal support, design reviews, manufacturing, integration, testing, launch prep, and post-launch operations.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and mission teams to fulfill technical goals.
  • Organize system design reviews, technical audits, and major milestone events (e.g., PDR, CDR).
  • Be the main liaison among internal teams, clients, and external partners.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage program budgets and forecasts.
  • Create and update detailed program schedules, spotlighting critical paths and dependencies.
  • Anticipate risks with mitigation plans to maintain timeline adherence.
  • Prepare status reports, executive summaries, and brief customers regularly.
  • Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of all program outputs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
  • Seven or more years in aerospace or satellite systems with at least three years in program or project management.
  • Comprehensive experience spanning design, development, and on-orbit missions.
  • Proven systems engineering role on spaceflight projects and expertise in at least one satellite subsystem (e.g. ADCS, C&DH).
  • Familiar with small satellite classes, ESPA satellites, and trade-space design considerations.
  • Demonstrated leadership with proficient task and team management skills.
  • Skilled in managing complex aerospace projects with technical, scheduling, and fiscal aspects.
  • Knowledgeable about satellite lifecycle processes including systems engineering, manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing, and launch preparations.
  • Ability to build and lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively across organizational levels.
  • Experience with government or commercial satellite contracts and regulatory compliance.
  • Financial acumen in budgeting, cost control, and variance analysis.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft environmental testing such as vibration, thermal vacuum, EMI/EMC.
  • Willingness to travel within the US and to Europe.
  • Resident of or willing to relocate to Denver, Colorado.
