Procurement Officer

About the Role

Gale's Agro Products is looking for a skilled and committed Procurement Officer to join their team based in Six Cross Roads, Saint Philip, Barbados. This position is essential for managing the entire procurement cycle, maintaining sufficient stock quantities, and ensuring efficient inventory control. The ideal candidate will be proactive, capable of negotiating effectively, detail-oriented, and ready to collaborate closely with sales and retail departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the procurement operations to guarantee stock levels meet sales demand.
• Coordinate consistently with the Sales Manager and Retail Supervisor to anticipate product needs and organize inventory planning.
• Identify and negotiate with suppliers to obtain optimal pricing and product quality.
• Track inventory levels and schedule timely restocking to avoid shortages or excess stock.
• Keep precise records of purchases, supplier information, and inventory data.
• Collaborate with the sales team to detect best-selling items and adapt procurement methods accordingly.
• Remain updated on market trends, new product offerings, and supplier advancements.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrated expertise using MS Dynamics or comparable ERP platforms.
• Documented experience in procurement, inventory control, or retail buying functions.
• Strong skills in communication and negotiation.
• Ability to work effectively alongside sales and retail units.
• Excellent organizational and analytic capabilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite and relevant inventory management software.
