Prison Support - HMP Erlestoke

Role overview

HMP Erlestoke is seeking an Operational Support Grade (OSG) to help keep the prison operating safely and efficiently each day. This is a varied, hands-on position within a supportive team, covering duties such as gate security and searches, handling deliveries, supervising visitors, and monitoring phone calls and CCTV. The work combines desk-based tasks with physical activity, including lifting, carrying, and walking to escort vehicles around the prison grounds.

Pay and benefits

The salary for this role is £30,491. In addition to base pay, the package includes 25 days of annual leave on appointment, rising to 30 days after 10 years of service, calculated pro rata. You will also receive 9 days of bank, public and privilege holidays, access to a paid Level 2 apprenticeship in customer service, and the Civil Service pension scheme.
