Pricing Analyst

Role Overview

As a Pricing Analyst at Staples Canada based in Richmond Hill, Ontario, you will deliver analytical and strategic support across Sales, Pricing, and Merchandising to enable business leaders to make informed and timely pricing decisions. This will involve leveraging pricing and cost-to-serve models, performing analytics, reviewing legal agreements, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to negotiate favorable costing. You will coordinate with multiple departments and senior leadership to present key pricing data and help implement initiatives that drive the company's EBITDA goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed pricing data and documentation for sales teams, including pricing rationales, pricing levels, and levers to effectively communicate with customers.
• Identify and recommend more efficient pricing processes, collaborating with management to evaluate feasibility of proposed solutions.
• Adapt swiftly to changing business demands such as margin targets, revenue strategies, technology updates, and product assortments.
• Highlight significant risks within pricing opportunities and communicate these to sales teams and leadership.
• Engage with teams throughout the customer lifecycle on pricing activities including account penetration, inflation recovery, margin improvements, account reviews, re-acquisition, and ad-hoc analyses.
• Develop and maintain user-friendly reports from complex data sets beyond existing tool capabilities to support managerial decision-making and business planning.
• Ensure the accuracy of customer-facing documents including bid pricing submissions, financial offerings, and pricing-related legal agreement content.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, accounting, finance, or equivalent experience is required.
• Proficient at extracting actionable insights from data.
• Creative problem-solver with an ability to tackle complex and ambiguous challenges.
• Ability to manage multiple tight deadlines effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
• Capable of prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently amidst shifting priorities.
• Detail-oriented with an eagerness to learn coupled with analytical and creative thinking.
