About the Role

At MediaWorks, home to New Zealand's beloved audio brands and a rapidly expanding podcast network via rova, we seek a seasoned Podcast Content Manager. This position involves collaborating with top local talent and creators to craft podcasts that captivate listeners and attract advertisers.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the editorial vision daily for the rova Studios podcast collection.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Producers fostering a cooperative and high-achieving environment.
• Elevate content quality, innovation, and uniformity through all production phases.
• Manage production workflows, studio schedules, publishing processes, and resource allocation for flawless project execution.
• Collaborate with commercial, marketing, radio, and digital teams to produce compelling audience-centered content and genuine brand partnerships.
• Discover and develop new podcasts, hosts, and formats to expand the rova Studios portfolio.
• Utilize audience analytics and performance metrics to refine content, boost listener engagement, and increase reach.
• Oversee production budgets, manage external vendors, and ensure operational efficiency.

Candidate Profile

• Proven editorial leadership experience fueled by passion for podcast content.
• Relevant tertiary degree in Broadcasting, Communications, Media, or equivalent leadership/production background.
• Minimum five years in podcasting, radio, audio, or digital media, with expertise in video-first or multiplatform content management.
• Track record of leading creative content across video, audio, and social platforms utilizing strong editorial judgment.
• Experience crafting content strategies and engaging diverse audiences through varied digital channels.
• Strong commercial insight incorporating sponsorships and branded content integration while upholding editorial integrity.
• Skilled in managing and mentoring on-air talents, presenters, and production teams.
• Exceptional organizational and project coordination abilities to juggle multiple projects within time and budget constraints.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills ensuring collaboration across departments.

Additional Skills and Experience

Familiarity with Descript and multi-track audio editing tools like Avid Pro Tools or Adobe Audition is advantageous. Knowledge of podcast hosting, distribution, monetization platforms, Dynamic Audio Ad Insertion (DAAI), integrated commercial delivery, and New Zealand On Air funding processes is also beneficial.
