PLC Programmer

About the Role

This full-time position involves developing and supporting PLC automation systems within the Ruhr Region. An initial extensive training is provided to build expertise in PLC programming of our automation technologies. Your primary responsibilities will include PLC software development for systems, aiding commissioning both internally and onsite at customer locations, and troubleshooting as required. You will also maintain detailed records of hardware and software modifications and manage technical documentation preparation. Customer acceptance testing and coordination form a key part of the role as well.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive initial training to acquire PLC development skills for automation solutions.
• Develop PLC programs for assigned systems and support commissioning activities onsite or in-house (up to 20% travel).
• Detect and resolve technical issues during commissioning phases, documenting related hardware and software updates.
• Organize and conduct customer acceptance procedures.
• Prepare and maintain all necessary technical documentation related to the systems.

Qualifications and Experience

• Completed technical education in mechatronics, electrical engineering, automation technology, or a related field.
• Proficient in the use of control software including TIA Portal and Simatic.
• Experience with Manager or TwinCat software mandatory.
• Sound engineering expertise and practical understanding of automation technology.
• Ability to work independently with a systematic approach and strong teamwork skills.
• Fluency in English is required.
