Playwright Automation Test Engineer

About the Role

Join a team prioritizing quality where your expertise in automation testing shapes user-friendly and dependable digital products. You will architect and enhance comprehensive end-to-end Playwright-based test suites that enable teams to confidently and swiftly deploy software releases. This role involves close collaboration with developers, product owners, and QA colleagues to detect early risks, avoid regressions, and continuously refine testing methodologies and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and sustain end-to-end automated test suites using Playwright aligned with product workflows and critical risk points.
• Create reusable test utilities, fixtures, and page-object model frameworks to promote maintainability and minimize redundant code.
• Execute automated regression tests ensuring thorough coverage of essential user journeys.
• Investigate test failures to identify root causes and work collaboratively with development teams to ensure prompt resolutions.
• Integrate automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines to provide rapid and trustworthy feedback on each software build.
• Establish and promote best practices, coding standards, and review procedures to maintain clean and scalable test code.
• Monitor and report on quality metrics such as pass rates, flaky test incidence, and defect leakage to steadily enhance test robustness.
• Participate in automation planning by selecting candidates for automation, prioritizing coverage areas, and matching testing to release schedules.

Minimum Qualifications

• Engineering degree or comparable practical experience.
• Between 3 to 10 years of QA/test automation experience with solid proficiency in Playwright testing.
• Experience designing, executing, and maintaining automated tests.
• Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end testing, regression strategies, and defect management.
• Capability to author clear, maintainable automated tests and collaborate efficiently with cross-disciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing or enhancing automation frameworks, including reusable modules, reporting, and test data handling.
• Practical knowledge integrating automated tests within CI/CD pipelines to enhance reliability and speed.
• Strong diagnostic skills for identifying flaky tests, environment issues, and product bugs, supported by clear evidence and logs.
• Familiarity with API testing and the integration of UI and API automation to improve coverage and reduce execution time.
• Proven mentorship abilities to guide peers, advocate automation best practices, and uplift team-wide quality standards.
