About the Role
This role offers a visible and strategic position as a People Business Partner where building relationships, influencing decisions and strategic thinking are crucial to success. You will collaborate with senior and operational leaders, managing a portfolio to drive business outcomes by implementing effective people strategies, enhancing leadership practices and boosting organizational capability.
Reporting to the Head of People Business Partnering, you will act as a trusted consultant guiding leaders through workforce planning, organizational change, employee relations and enhancing team performance. Supported by a team of People specialists in employee relations, organizational development, talent management and rewards, your focus will be on partnering closely with the business to influence decisions and deliver effective people solutions for operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align people strategies with business goals and operational priorities.
- Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, providing practical and commercially aware advice.
- Coach and challenge leaders to advance leadership capability, performance and team dynamics.
- Lead initiatives involving organizational change and transformation activities.
- Engage with unions and employee representatives to promote positive employment relations.
- Leverage specialized knowledge across employee relations, talent, organizational development and rewards for comprehensive people solutions.
Candidate Profile
Successful candidates will be adept at establishing credibility with senior stakeholders and influencing outcomes in complex environments. You will balance strategic insights with hands-on execution, confidently managing competing priorities amidst ambiguity and change. Your approach will be collaborative, recognizing that strong relationships and commercial acumen underpin effective business partnering. Experience working within unionized settings and history of guiding leaders through change, growth and transformation is essential.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in senior HR advisory or People Business Partner roles.
- Proven ability in managing and influencing senior stakeholders effectively.
- Background in supporting large, complex and ideally unionized environments.
- Competence in driving organizational change, workforce planning and improving organizational effectiveness.
- Strong coaching, communication and relationship management skills.
- Commercially minded with confidence to challenge and influence decision-making.
