Peer Reviewer - Thermodynamics (PhD)

Overview

This is a long-term, stable part-time opportunity that can be done remotely. Candidates are expected to review the requirements carefully and complete the application form with accurate details.

Role Expectations

• Review the originality of submitted manuscripts and judge whether they contribute meaningful new knowledge or insights to the subject.
• Check whether the research plan, methods, and overall study design are suitable, complete, and described clearly enough to allow replication.
• Assess whether the manuscript includes relevant and current literature with proper citations.
• Evaluate the clarity and validity of the results and conclusions, and confirm whether the conclusions are supported by the evidence and relevant to the field.
• Offer practical, constructive comments that identify weaknesses, missing points, and any ethical issues.
• Submit a recommendation on the manuscript; the final editorial decision will be made by the journal editor, who may accept, request revisions, or reject the paper.

Eligibility Criteria

• A doctoral degree (PhD) or an equivalent advanced qualification in the relevant discipline is required.
• Applicants should have published at least 5 papers in SCI or SSCI journals within the last three years.
• Strong knowledge of research methods and ethical standards in the discipline is necessary.
• Excellent analytical and critical reasoning abilities are expected.
• Well-developed written communication skills are needed to deliver clear, concise, and helpful feedback.
• The ability to work to deadlines and manage time efficiently is essential.
• A high level of confidentiality and impartiality must be maintained.
• Previous experience reviewing for academic journals is considered a strong advantage.
• Comfort using online manuscript submission and review platforms is preferred.

This role is based in Qatar and supports remote work. It is intended as a stable, long-term part-time engagement.
