PCB Design Manager I

Job Summary

The PCB Design Manager I will oversee the development, layout, simulation, design for manufacturing (DFM) validation, and release of intricate, high-speed PCB solutions that support new product innovations. This leadership role focuses on maintaining technical excellence, fostering team growth, cooperating cross-functionally, and promoting continual process enhancements to deliver high-quality, cost-efficient, and manufacturable PCB designs aligned with strategic business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of PCBs including high-speed, mixed-signal, power, RF, and multilayer products.
• Define and implement PCB design methodologies, standards, and exemplary practices.
• Review and sanction PCB layouts, stack-ups, signal and power integrity analyses, and DFM recommendations.
• Assist teams in addressing technical challenges throughout product life cycles.
• Support technological advancement initiatives involving advanced packaging, high-speed interfaces, and future PCB technologies.
• Manage and mentor PCB design engineers and technical experts, set performance goals, provide regular coaching, and enhance employee engagement and talent development.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, and skill-building efforts for the PCB design team.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, Signal Integrity, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Reliability, and Product Management teams, along with external fabrication and assembly partners.
• Drive design review sessions and technical decision-making processes.
• Implement continuous improvement projects targeting reduced cycle times, improved quality, automation, and heightened engineering productivity.
• Deploy PCB design automation tools and process enhancements to streamline workflows.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Over 10 years of experience in PCB design, hardware engineering, or related development roles.
• 2-3 years of progressive responsibility in people management and technical leadership.
• Comprehensive knowledge of PCB design workflows, fabrication, assembly, and verification.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as Cadence Allegro, Altium Designer, or equivalent platforms.
• Expertise in high-speed digital design, signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI), and DFM/DFT methodologies.
• Strong project management capabilities, effective communication, and stakeholder relationship skills.

Preferred Expertise

• Experience managing international engineering teams.
• Advanced knowledge of signal and power integrity along with emerging PCB technologies.
• Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) and engineering change management processes (ECN/ECO).
• Demonstrated success in cost optimization and reducing development cycle times.
