Role Details
The Payroll Officer position is based at the newly upgraded head office in Naval Base, Western Australia. This role involves managing the entire fortnightly payroll process using Pronto for over 300 employees spanning several companies and payroll cycles. Collaboration with another Payroll Officer is essential to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the payroll function alongside a fellow Payroll Officer.
- Manage end-to-end bi-weekly payroll processing in Pronto for 300+ employees across multiple entities.
- Collaborate with business leaders to resolve timesheet queries promptly.
- Ensure timely submission of Superannuation, PAYG, Payroll Tax, and Workers Compensation wage claims.
- Input new employee data and maintain accurate employee records within Pronto.
- Prepare and input payroll journal entries.
- Assess and interpret employee contracts for payroll compliance.
- Adhere strictly to payroll legislation and regulations.
- Maintain and respond to the payroll inbox and handle all payroll-related inquiries professionally.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 3 years experience working in payroll.
- Proficient experience with Pronto payroll software is critical.
- Intermediate skills in Excel for data management and reporting.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
- Highly organized with effective time management capabilities.
- Ability to work both collaboratively in a team and independently when necessary.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll information.
