Network Administrator

About the Role

A UAE-based holding company located in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Network Administrator for a new role collaborating closely with the IT Director. This hands-on position involves managing network availability, providing user support, controlling access, handling backups, and maintaining documentation to support approximately 150 users.

The ideal candidate will be practical and proactive, focused on minimizing downtime, organizing systems efficiently, and communicating technical information clearly to non-technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN/Internet connections and related network equipment.
• Monitor network performance and carry out maintenance tasks to ensure high availability.
• Create and implement preventive maintenance plans to avoid downtime and hardware failures.
• Provision hardware and software per internal business and security guidelines.
• Maintain servers and related services/settings, including safe upgrades to storage and file systems.
• Manage network user accounts, permissions, and access control.
• Oversee backup and disaster recovery processes to safeguard data integrity and redundancy.
• Assess and suggest enhancements in security and system upgrades.
• Test software releases and system changes to ensure compatibility and minimal user impact.
• Develop clear technical documentation for systems, troubleshooting, and support procedures.

Requirements

• Practical experience with VMware, specifically ESXi/vSphere, is mandatory.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration.
• Experience working with CCTV systems.
• Proven ability supporting an environment with around 150 users.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• At least 2 years of UAE experience as a Network Administrator.
• Minimum of 4 years total experience in networking roles.
• Prior exposure to Cisco switches and routers is preferred.
• Certifications such as MCSE, CISSP, CCNA, or CCNP are advantageous.
