Role Overview

This full-time, on-site position is for a Mining Innovation Expert based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The primary responsibility involves spearheading the creation of advanced mining and mineral products while leading research and development efforts that align with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and the National Mining Strategy. The role requires establishing and managing strategic partnerships to propel the mining sector forward.

Key Duties

• Identify and assess state-of-the-art mining technologies and innovative solutions.
• Lead or contribute significantly to research and development projects targeted at mining innovation.
• Perform technical evaluations and feasibility studies related to mining technologies.
• Collaborate closely with research organizations and technology partners to drive innovation.
• Provide data-backed strategies and technical advice to senior management.
• Work cross-functionally to ensure that innovative concepts are effectively implemented and yield measurable business and operational benefits.

Experience and Qualifications

• At least five years of professional experience focused on developing innovative mining or mineral products, especially in industrial research and development settings.
• Comprehensive understanding of current mining technologies including advanced extraction and mineral processing techniques as well as new trends in the industry.
• Demonstrated leadership or active involvement in mining or industrial sector R&D teams.
• Proven expertise in forming partnerships with academic institutions, technology firms, and governmental agencies to promote mining innovation.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate new technologies and convert insights into strategic recommendations and technical guidance.
• Experience working in the Saudi Arabian or Gulf Cooperation Council mining sectors is highly desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities; fluency in Arabic is a significant advantage.
• Educational qualifications must include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related discipline; candidates with a PhD in Engineering, Sciences, or related areas are preferred.
• An active research profile with published works in mining or mineral processing fields will be favorably considered.
