As its portfolio expands, the company is enhancing its Industrial Security & Crisis Management division and seeks an experienced Manager – Safety & Fire (SAIS/HCIS) to oversee safety and fire-related compliance across projects and operational sites.

Role Overview

The Manager – Safety & Fire will serve as ACWA’s subject matter expert on SAIS Safety & Fire (SAF) regulations, guiding projects and operational sites to comply with industrial safety, fire prevention, and firefighting standards. The position involves engaging throughout the project lifecycle, from the design and construction stages to commissioning and operation, delivering technical guidance, regulatory oversight, and assurance to diverse stakeholders including project teams, operators, consultants, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the deployment and monitoring of SAIS/HCIS Safety & Fire mandates across ACWA’s projects and operational facilities.
  • Interpret and provide technical guidance on SAIS SAF directives and regulatory frameworks.
  • Evaluate fire protection analyses, engineering designs, compliance documentation, and project submissions.
  • Supervise arrangements related to industrial fire protection and firefighting systems.
  • Assess fire protection installations such as fire pumps, hydrants, foam systems, detection and alarm systems, suppression mechanisms, and passive fire barriers.
  • Support the execution of fire hazard evaluations, risk assessments, and loss prevention strategies.
  • Ensure SAF requirements are implemented effectively throughout project phases including development, construction, commissioning, and operational startup.
  • Coordinate inspections, audits, and evaluations conducted by SAIS and other governmental bodies.
  • Track and facilitate closure of regulatory findings and corrective measures.
  • Assist in emergency preparedness activities, industrial firefighting drills, and response simulations.
  • Offer technical counsel on process safety and fire-related issues to project and operational teams.
  • Engage with stakeholders such as SAIS, Civil Defense, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Energy, and other authorities.
  • Promote competency building, training, and awareness initiatives on Safety & Fire regulations.

Candidate Profile

  • Saudi national.
  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in industrial safety, process safety, fire protection, or industrial firefighting.
  • Proven knowledge of HCIS / SAIS Safety & Fire requirements in the Saudi regulatory environment.
  • Experience in sectors such as power generation, utilities, water/desalination, oil & gas, petrochemicals, energy, or other critical infrastructure industries.
  • Familiarity supporting industrial sites during both project implementation and operational stages.
  • Strong understanding of fire protection systems, fire risk evaluation, and firefighting readiness.
  • Experience liaising with Saudi regulatory and government bodies.
  • Proficient in both Arabic and English communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background with a major Saudi industrial entity under HCIS/SAIS regulations.
  • SAIS official approval.
  • Certification as NFPA Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) and/or Certified Fire Inspector.
  • In-depth familiarity with NFPA codes and standards.
  • Experience managing multiple facilities, projects, or business units.

Why Join ACWA?

This role offers the unique opportunity to influence Safety & Fire compliance across a broad range of critical infrastructure facilities, rather than focusing on a single plant or project. You will collaborate closely with project teams, operational units, senior management, and government authorities to help maintain ACWA’s high standards of fire safety, industrial safety, and regulatory adherence throughout Saudi Arabia.
