Job description
Overview
Lead and oversee the safe, efficient, and regulatory-compliant operations of Ras Laffan Port. Be responsible for the strategic, operational, and regulatory performance of the port while ensuring alignment with State, National, and International maritime standards. Safeguard business continuity, ensure safety, maintain asset integrity, and uphold strong financial outcomes.
Experience and Skills Required
- Between 15 to 20 years of progressively responsible experience in port or maritime operations, with preference for those in the Oil and Gas industry.
- At least five years served in senior management positions within port operations.
- Proven leadership in managing complex port operations, logistics, or infrastructure functions.
- Thorough understanding of International Maritime Conventions such as MARPOL, SOLAS, ILO among others, and familiarity with Oil & Gas industry standards and the shipping sector.
- Strong competence in leadership, risk assessment, strategic decision-making, negotiation, and stakeholder communications.
Qualifications
Possession of an internationally recognized senior maritime certification such as Master Mariner Class 1 is essential. Alternatively, a university degree in Marine Transportation or Marine Engineering is required, ideally complemented with an MBA.
