Role Overview
We are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to manage daily operations at our Fort Saskatchewan facility. The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, organized, safety-conscious, and proficient in leading teams. This role demands managing shop workflows, setting clear priorities, assisting mechanics, and ensuring equipment readiness for active projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily shop operations at the Fort Saskatchewan location
- Define and communicate daily and weekly maintenance priorities for mechanics and staff
- Ensure timely completion of equipment maintenance, repairs, inspections, and preparation
- Coordinate logistics to guarantee equipment availability when needed
- Collaborate with area managers and leadership to align equipment priorities with project demands
- Manage competing priorities while maintaining clear focus in shop activities
- Offer leadership and accountability for mechanics and shop personnel
- Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free shop environment
- Enforce housekeeping standards and proactively resolve safety issues
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, and maintain open communication within the team
- Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with company procedures
- Identify equipment or workflow issues and suggest efficiency improvements
- Provide clear updates to leadership on equipment status, delays, resource needs, and priority adjustments
- Maintain professionalism and decisiveness under operational pressures
Candidate Profile
- Proven leadership experience managing maintenance shops or mechanical teams
- Strong mechanical expertise, ideally with pumps, heavy machinery, industrial equipment, or fleet systems
- Skilled in organizing and prioritizing work among mechanics or technicians
- Ability to manage multiple competing tasks efficiently
- Confident decision-maker who can uphold priorities amid shifting demands
- Exceptional communication skills to work with field teams, area managers, and senior management
- Safety-oriented mindset with emphasis on shop housekeeping
- Capable of holding team members accountable fairly and professionally
- Effective problem-solver adaptable to changing project requirements
- Experienced in leading safety meetings and shop planning sessions
- Possession of a valid driver's license is preferable
