About the Role
We are seeking a Learning & Development Lead to join our People team in a hybrid or fully remote capacity within the United States. This role requires a hands-on leader with a builder's mindset, expert understanding of diverse employee learning preferences, and a passion for cultivating a learning culture across the organization. The candidate will spearhead creating a centralized corporate training function by leveraging innovative AI and advanced learning technologies tailored to a highly technical and expanding workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement the foundational blueprint, strategy, and system for the company’s inaugural centralized corporate training program serving a global workforce.
- Research, select, and deploy cutting-edge AI-powered learning platforms and knowledge systems that surpass traditional Learning Management Systems by offering adaptive, context-aware learning experiences.
- Establish core learning pillars rooted in solid learning science to ensure training impacts measurable business outcomes, focusing on safety, compliance, environmental health, leadership development, and enhanced engineering and operational skills.
- Collaborate with different internal teams, including Aviation Safety, Legal, Compliance, and EH&S, to develop essential training programs aligned with organizational goals and regulatory mandates.
- Conduct training sessions virtually and in person, initially serving as a principal content creator and facilitator while preparing to scale a small team to expand the function’s reach.
- Partner with AI Champions to integrate AI training across the workforce.
Required Qualifications
- Over 10 years of experience in instructional design, corporate learning, or talent development, preferably within fast-paced tech environments or industries like aviation, robotics, or hardware.
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Expertise in learning science and instructional design, capable of crafting diverse training programs suited for both office-based engineers and field personnel.
- Hands-on experience integrating AI-based solutions within dynamic learning environments.
- Proven ability to tie learning initiatives directly to business-critical metrics such as safety incident reductions and improved leadership retention.
- Comfortable working independently at the outset, creating content and organizing training materials while exhibiting strategic vision to develop a scalable L&D function.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
Additional Information
