Role summary
This position is centered on understanding the needs of customers who send high volumes of money, especially those with more complex transfer requirements. The aim is to help the team identify the most important pain points and shape products that improve convenience and the overall transfer experience for this customer group.
The team works on making the service smoother for customers with specific transfer needs, while still supporting the wider customer base. In this role, you will help design and improve products and services tailored to these needs.
This is an IC3-level role.
What you will do
- Review the full transfer journey to spot friction, drop-offs, and conversion issues, then turn the findings into practical product improvements.
- Use data to support acquisition, onboarding, and retention improvements for customers making large or complex transfers.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators that show the long-term effect of product changes and help the team continuously improve.
- Work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Operations, Servicing teams, and other Analysts to deliver high-impact work.
- Represent the customer perspective by identifying high-impact opportunities and challenging existing approaches to improve service quality and scale.
- Contribute to an open, inclusive team environment that values collaboration, shared learning, and different viewpoints.
- Support broader product objectives and help align the team’s work with Wise’s mission of making money move without borders.
What you need
- Strong SQL skills, including working with large or complex datasets, writing efficient queries, and validating data carefully.
- Experience with product analytics and event tracking tools such as Mixpanel, Amplitude, Google Analytics, or similar platforms.
- Exposure to data pipelines, with dbt considered a strong advantage.
- Ability to create clear visualizations and present data through BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Superset, along with strong data storytelling skills.
- Proven experience working with and influencing stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Operations, and Servicing.
- A structured approach to problem solving, with the ability to simplify complex issues and focus on the highest-impact work first.
- A proactive, self-driven mindset that works well in a fast-moving environment and adapts as team needs change.
- No fintech background is required; curiosity, willingness to learn, and strong empathy for customers are what matter most.
- Nice-to-have: familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or R for automating repetitive tasks.
- Nice-to-have: exposure to tools such as Airflow, GitHub, or dbt.
