Role Overview

We invite you to join our passionate team as a Junior Animator, contributing your skills to a thrilling, undisclosed project that continues Rebellion's proud tradition of success. This role involves crafting compelling gameplay animations that align with both technical parameters and artistic direction.

This position can be based at our Oxford or Warwick studios, providing a collaborative environment alongside a world-class team. We offer a relocation package that includes moving support, temporary housing, and comprehensive assistance to ease your transition.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop consistently high-quality gameplay animations for characters and creatures.
• Apply principles such as timing, exaggeration, weight, ease in/out, overlapping actions, anticipation, secondary motion, framing, squash and stretch, arcs, and perspective when creating 3D animations.
• Adhere to best practices in production workflows and pipeline management.
• Collaborate across disciplines to interpret feedback and generate engaging animations.
• Gain familiarity with our custom engine and tools, leveraging knowledge from other game engines.
• Polish, blend, and refine motion capture data to a high standard.
• Use JIRA to monitor and update daily task progress.

Candidate Requirements

• Strong proficiency with 3D software like Maya, MotionBuilder, or similar animation tools.
• Solid understanding of acting techniques, cinematography, and visual storytelling in animation.
• Ability to animate realistic motion for characters and creatures.
• Capacity to collaborate effectively with technical animators regarding rigging and skinning processes.
• Comprehensive knowledge of production pipelines.
• Passion for game development and gameplay animation.
• Experience managing motion capture data, including capturing, processing, and pipeline utilization.
