Role Overview

This entry-level Investment Analyst position involves supporting the investment team throughout the entire deal process. Responsibilities include sourcing and screening investment prospects, performing company and market research, crafting financial and data analyses, and monitoring portfolio ventures. This role is designed for fresh graduates passionate about technology, AI, and entrepreneurship, poised to become a core member of the investment team, working closely with senior partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in identifying new investment leads by researching sectors, attending networking events, and spotting promising founders and companies.
• Support due diligence efforts including market analysis, competitor research, customer and management reference checks, and transaction document reviews.
• Conduct detailed company research and create financial, technical, and valuation models to aid investment decisions.
• Utilize AI tools and advanced data methods to accelerate research, synthesize data, and enhance analysis quality and speed.
• Help develop investment theses, memos, and presentation materials for internal review and the Investment Committee.
• Assist in tracking portfolio company performance after investments and prepare related reports.
• Contribute to portfolio value creation initiatives and maintain accurate data in portfolio management systems.
• Promote Vertex Growth’s presence within the startup, technology, and venture capital ecosystems.

Candidate Requirements

• Recent bachelor’s graduate, ideally in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related technical fields, with strong academic achievements.
• Basic understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning principles as they apply to products and businesses.
• Skillful in using AI and agentic technologies to support research, analysis, automation, and productivity enhancement.
• Demonstrated interest or participation in entrepreneurship through startup experience, university programs, hackathons, accelerators, or building projects.
• Previous internships in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, consulting, startups, or technology sectors are advantageous but not mandatory.
• Strong curiosity about technological innovations and emerging digital platforms from academic, internship, or personal pursuits.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and research skills with capability to identify core issues and develop sound recommendations.
• Proficiency in data handling and spreadsheet tools (Excel), with ability to present data clearly and effectively.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and oral, confident in group presentations.
• Collaborative team player with good interpersonal and networking skills, proactive in learning and staying current with developments.
• Well-organized, motivated, and able to excel in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
