About the Role
Decarbonization Partners, a joint venture by Temasek and BlackRock, focuses on investing in pioneering decarbonization solutions that drive global progress toward net-zero emissions by 2050. The platform concentrates on late-stage venture and growth equity investment opportunities across sectors like next-generation renewables, electric and autonomous vehicles, emerging fuel types, grid enhancements, and battery storage. Future investments might expand to carbon capture, industrial applications, built environment, and advanced manufacturing.
This team deploys multi-stage flexible capital targeting early and growth-stage enterprises as well as established players with notable decarbonization impact, aiming to scale innovative technologies capable of measurable emissions reduction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and update financial models to assess opportunities, including valuation, returns, sensitivities, and scenario analyses.
- Assist in deal evaluation and execution processes such as due diligence, financial assessments, market research, preparing investment committee materials, reviewing documentation, and engaging with advisors.
- Conduct detailed research on sectors, companies, competitors, and regulations to evaluate business models, growth potential, competitive standing, and investment risks.
- Track portfolio company performance, compile reports, update valuations, and prepare materials for stakeholders.
- Support thematic research, pipeline building, and other investment team projects.
Candidate Profile and Skills
- Previous experience in investment banking, private equity, growth equity, venture capital, infrastructure, project finance, consulting, corporate development, or a related analytical function is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, valuation, quantitative analysis, and interpreting complex data.
- Sound commercial insight with the ability to distill intricate information into clear, actionable recommendations.
- A demonstrated passion for decarbonization, climate technology, energy transition, sustainability, infrastructure, or private markets investment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, capable of producing high-quality investment documentation.
- Highly organized and meticulous, able to manage diverse projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Collaborative, curious, and entrepreneurial mindset suited to a dynamic and fast-paced team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree mandatory; fields such as finance, economics, business, engineering, science, or other quantitative or technical disciplines are preferred.
