Inventory Analyst

Position Summary

We are looking for an Inventory Analyst to manage the daily supply, inventory, and purchasing workflows throughout our worldwide supply chain. Your role will focus on maintaining material availability by overseeing supply methods, balancing inventory between sites, and conducting comprehensive inventory analyses. Ensuring data accuracy through regular reporting and handling the entire purchase order cycle to guarantee timely deliveries are essential aspects of this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate routine reports monitoring inventory status, surplus and obsolete stock, and shortages across global locations.
• Assess inventory levels in relation to targets such as days of supply, inventory turns, and safety stock; alert senior staff to discrepancies.
• Analyze supply plans to facilitate inventory balancing prior to excess and obsolete reporting.
• Maintain and update dashboards and data repositories using Excel and business intelligence tools with precise and timely data.
• Conduct root cause investigations into inventory discrepancies including excess, shortages, and slow-moving items.
• Assist monthly inventory review meetings by preparing data and highlighting significant changes.
• Provide data contributions for Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes and supply evaluations, focusing on inventory status and potential risks and gaps.
• Track and report vital metrics including inventory turns, service performance, and aging inventory.
• Follow up on action items arising from planning and inventory meetings.
• Generate and issue purchase orders based on planning inputs and directives.
• Oversee open purchase orders to ensure punctual receipt, including monitoring supplier commitments, expediting or de-expediting orders, and addressing delivery and quantity inconsistencies.
• Ensure purchase order records in ERP systems like SAP are current regarding dates, quantities, and pricing.
• Engage with suppliers and internal teams promptly to resolve order issues.
• Collaborate with Planning, Logistics, and Warehouse units to guarantee efficient material movement.
• Coordinate inbound shipment activities and update delivery progress as necessary.
• Assist Finance in tracking purchase price variances and resolving invoice discrepancies.
• Adhere to established standard operating procedures for inventory and purchasing functions.
• Identify and report data quality problems and process weaknesses to management.
• Support efforts to enhance processes and cleanse data for improved accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in supply chain roles including purchasing and inventory analysis; internships are considered acceptable.
• Proficiency with Excel features such as pivot tables, lookup formulas, and foundational data analysis.
• Familiarity with ERP software systems, preferably SAP.
• Basic grasp of supply chain and inventory management principles including lead time, safety stock, and inventory turnover.
• Strong attention to detail and skill in following standardized processes reliably.
• Effective communication capabilities to interact with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and consistently meet deadlines.

Compensation

The hourly pay rate ranges from $60 to $80 per hour.
