Overview
This role involves serving as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to human resources programs, policies, and procedures. The specialist is responsible for providing Tier 1 support to the workforce, helping functional teams manage customer requests efficiently and with confidentiality.
Job Details
- Location: Baltimore, MD (Remote)
- Duration: 6 months contract
- Licenses/Certifications Required: Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP)
- Educational Qualification: High School Diploma
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly and accurately to general HR inquiries from associates.
- Offer frontline support for HR-related questions and requests.
- Assist functional teams daily to ensure timely and confidential handling of all customer requests.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience in areas such as customer service, HR onboarding, or as an HR technician/analyst/generalist.
- Strong proficiency in multiple HR disciplines including compensation, benefits, employee relations, immigration, performance management, and federal/state employment laws.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- High competence in managing systems, data analysis, and reporting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment that involves changing priorities and ambiguity.
- Specialized HR experience in the healthcare insurance claims sector, including knowledge of employee relations, recruitment, corrective actions, HR processes, and policy interpretation.
