Role Overview
The HR Generalist will act as a trusted advisor for both employees and leaders across the company, concentrating on employee relations, workplace investigations, and performance management. This position is the primary HR contact for our onsite Fort Lauderdale and remote workforce, playing a key role in maintaining a positive, compliant, and productive workplace. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a solution-focused approach, strong interpersonal communication, confidentiality, and sound judgment in navigating complex employee situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for employee relations issues, offering managers and employees guidance on HR policies and managing conflicts effectively.
- Conduct thorough, timely, and objective workplace investigations into complaints, policy breaches, and misconduct, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
- Facilitate formal hearings, disciplinary meetings, and termination procedures, ensuring consistent, well-documented, and legally sound processes.
- Collect, organize, and maintain detailed records supporting performance management actions such as corrective counseling, written warnings, performance improvement plans, and dismissals.
- Partner with managers to create and implement performance improvement plans, ensuring clarity and follow-up.
- Advise managers on best practices for documentation and coach them through difficult employee conversations with professionalism.
- Lead new employee orientation and onboarding initiatives to create engaging, organized, and informative experiences that integrate hires into the company's culture effectively.
- Continuously review and enhance onboarding processes to boost engagement, retention, and new hire productivity.
- Maintain accurate electronic employee records and HR documentation compliant with federal, state, and organizational requirements.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, and state-specific legislation.
- Collaborate with HR leadership on rolling out HR programs and initiatives.
- Provide HR data insights and reporting as requested by leadership.
- Act as a resource for employee inquiries on HR policies, benefits, and workplace concerns, maintaining confidentiality and high service standards.
- Work closely with Payroll, Compliance, and Operations teams to provide seamless HR services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- At least five years of progressive experience as an HR Generalist.
- Must be fully onsite and available to work in Fort Lauderdale, FL; this role does not support remote or hybrid work.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms, with experience in Paylocity considered advantageous.
- Strong discretion and ethical judgment in managing confidential and sensitive issues.
- Proven ability to perform formal workplace investigations with thorough documentation and recommendations.
- Experience in conducting disciplinary and termination meetings.
- Understanding of key employment legislation including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, and relevant state laws.
- Skilled in gathering documentation to support performance management and dismissal decisions.
- Experienced in delivering engaging new hire orientations and managing onboarding workflows.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills suited for interactions at various organizational levels.
- Strong organizational capabilities to juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000 annually.
