Role overview
The HR Administrator will deliver daily administrative support to the HR team in Ireland. This role suits someone who enjoys working with people and wants to grow a career in HR. You will support recruitment for General Operatives and hourly-paid employees, help manage a tailored candidate assessment process, and assist with a wide range of HR activities across the employee lifecycle.
Recruitment administration
- Run the recruitment admin process end to end for General Operative and hourly-paid vacancies, including job posting, interview scheduling and candidate communication.
- Keep applicant tracking records up to date and make sure candidate data is stored accurately and in line with GDPR requirements.
- Serve as the main contact for candidates during the hiring journey, ensuring a professional and positive experience.
- Work with hiring managers to confirm interview timing, panel availability and selection decisions.
- Prepare and issue offer letters, employment contracts and pre-employment paperwork promptly and accurately.
Candidate assessment administration
- Coordinate CEL’s bespoke assessment process for prospective hires, ensuring consistency, fairness and alignment with the agreed framework.
- Arrange assessment sessions, invigilate when needed and compile results for HR and hiring manager review.
- Keep accurate records of assessment outcomes and support calibration or moderation activities where required.
- Look for practical ways to improve both the administration and the candidate experience of the assessment process.
HR process administration
- Support new starter onboarding, including starter packs, induction scheduling and pre-employment checks.
- Maintain employee information on the HRIS, keeping data accurate and compliant at all times.
- Handle HR administration such as contract amendments, probation reviews, leaver paperwork and references.
- Support payroll administration by ensuring employee data changes are communicated correctly and on time.
- Help coordinate employee relations activity, including meeting arrangements, note-taking and record keeping.
- Assist with performance management administration, including tracking review completion and development plans.
- Support employee engagement initiatives, surveys and wellbeing activities.
- Prepare HR reports and data summaries using Excel and the HRIS to track key people metrics.
- Respond to routine HR queries from employees and managers, escalating issues where appropriate.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of HR processes, templates and documentation.
- Complete any other general HR administration duties needed to support the team.
Requirements
Approximately 3 years of experience in an administrative position, ideally within HR, recruitment or a people-focused environment, is preferred.
A bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Psychology or a related area is desirable, but practical experience may be accepted in place of formal education.
Strong capability with Microsoft Office tools, especially Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, is essential.
Experience using AI productivity tools, or at least a strong understanding of them, is required.
Exposure to an HRIS or ATS would be an advantage.
You should have excellent accuracy, strong organisation, good time management and the ability to balance several priorities at once.
A professional, discreet approach is important, especially when handling confidential or sensitive information.
Good working knowledge of GDPR and data protection principles is needed.
An interest in building a career in HR or Talent Acquisition is highly desirable.
