Role Overview

We are seeking a GRC Analyst II to join our Information Security team, reporting to the GRC Manager. This role entails broader responsibility for key GRC program areas and collaboration on senior initiatives related to risk, audit, and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in GRC, excellent communication skills, and the capability to work independently with both technical and business teams to ensure compliance and manage risk effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the data classification program, including maintenance of classification schema and tagging standards, working closely with data owners to guarantee accurate classification across systems and assets.
Manage system classification and ownership inventory, partnering with teams for proper classification, attribution, and regular reviews.
Assist in coordinating audits such as SOC 2 and other compliance standards.
Perform vendor security assessments and reviews.
Handle the lifecycle of policy management, including drafting new policies and standards, tracking review processes, coordinating approvals, and ensuring version control.
Identify gaps in controls or opportunities for process improvements, collaborating with business units to implement and uphold effective controls.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information systems, or a closely related discipline.
Between 2 to 4 years of GRC or information security experience, preferably in a commercial SaaS or software company environment.
Familiarity with information security frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, or CIS.
Experience with data classification frameworks and data governance principles.
Proven ability to conduct vendor security assessments and manage third-party risk processes.
Hands-on involvement with audit support, including SOC 2 evidence collection.
Strong understanding of information security policies, standards, and procedures.
Proficiency with GRC platforms or tools (examples include Drata, ServiceNow GRC, or equivalents).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse technical and non-technical audiences.
Capability to juggle multiple tasks independently, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.

Work Environment

Payscale follows a remote-first approach, allowing employees to work from any suitable location with flexibility. While there are no centralized corporate offices, employees can opt for home-based work, company-paid co-working spaces, or a blend of both depending on personal preference.

Recommended home office requirements include a stable high-speed internet connection of minimum 100 Mbps and a device for multifactor authentication (smartphone, tablet, etc.). Employees occasionally attend in-person events, typically no more than a few times annually.

Currently, hiring is open across the US, Canada, UK, the Philippines, and Romania, except for Quebec Province, Northern Ireland, and Hawaii.

Compensation

The salary range offered is CA$62,860 to CA$94,290 annually.
