Role overview

MAS Event and Design LLC is hiring a Graphic Designer to join its Design team. This remote contractor position reports to the Director of Design and may involve onsite travel depending on project needs.

What you will do

Support visual exploration, concept development, and the rollout of design systems for conferences, experiential activations, and attendee-facing materials.
Develop design directions and iterate on concepts so they align with the creative brief and client goals.
Create environmental graphics, signage, wayfinding, registration touchpoints, sponsor areas, digital assets, and attendee communications.
Build and adapt scalable visual systems for multiple event applications while preserving consistency and detail.
Work closely with the Graphics Art Director, producers, content teams, spatial designers, and other creative partners throughout the project.
Prepare polished layouts, presentations, and visual storytelling assets with a high level of accuracy.
Handle several workstreams at once and contribute from concept stage through final production and event delivery.
Produce production-ready artwork, print files, and print grids with technical precision and quality control.

What we are looking for

3 to 5+ years of experience designing for conferences, trade shows, branded spaces, experiential marketing, or large-scale events.
A portfolio that shows environmental graphics, experiential design, signage, wayfinding, visual systems, and brand application across physical and digital environments.
Strong command of typography, color, composition, hierarchy, and layout across both digital and spatial design work.
Proven experience expanding visual systems across different formats, audiences, and settings.
Ability to work within an existing brand framework while contributing fresh visual solutions and refining the overall system.
Confidence in taking ownership of assigned work while staying open to collaboration, feedback, and direction.
Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, plus Figma and design systems that support consistency and scale.
Ability to manage priorities independently, move work forward with limited supervision, and own multiple tasks at once.
Self-directed problem solving skills and the flexibility to adapt to changing timelines and project requirements.
Solid understanding of large-format production, printing specs, color management, materials, and production workflows.
Ability to read floorplans, technical drawings, and spatial layouts and apply graphics appropriately in physical settings.
Excellent organization, communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
Illustration, motion, or information design experience is considered an added advantage.

Competencies

Advanced skill with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
Comfort using Google Workspace, especially Google Slides.
Ability to convert design systems and creative assets into scalable, print-ready experiential applications.
Strong environmental graphics, typography, and layout capabilities.
Experience translating creative ideas into production-ready graphics for conferences, events, and branded environments.
Understanding of how graphics perform in physical spaces, including scale, visibility, guest movement, and wayfinding.
Ability to balance big-picture thinking with production execution.
High attention to detail and a commitment to design quality.
Ability to collaborate well while also working independently when needed.
Integrity, accountability, and enthusiasm in a collaborative creative environment.

Compensation

The starting hourly rate for this role is between $50 and $100. The final rate will depend on factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market conditions. This range may change in the future.

Travel requirements

Onsite travel may be required depending on the project. Travel can include airplane, train, taxi, car, or other transportation as needed.

Physical requirements

The role primarily involves sitting during the day, with standing as needed. There may also be periods of walking on level surfaces.
