About the Role

A leading global pharmaceutical manufacturer is seeking a General Operator for a temporary onsite role in Swindon. This full-time position involves working a rotating double day shift schedule, alternating weekly between 7:00am–3:00pm and 3:00pm–11:00pm, Monday to Friday. Compensation includes a base hourly rate of £13.86 plus a 22% shift allowance, equating to £16.91 per hour. You will operate within a strictly regulated cleanroom environment, supporting pharmaceutical production while upholding rigorous quality and safety standards. This opportunity offers full training, making it an excellent fit for those seeking steady employment in a structured manufacturing setting. Prior experience in cleanroom or manufacturing environments is preferred but not a requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Work within Grade C/D cleanroom environments following Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.
  • Adhere to gowning protocols and maintain strict cleanroom hygiene standards.
  • Prepare cleaning supplies and execute cleaning and sanitization tasks according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist with material transfers into classified production zones.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels ensuring materials are within their expiry dates.
  • Operate airlocks and, after training, support autoclave and part washer operations.
  • Perform packaging, labeling, and conduct in-process quality inspections.
  • Accurately complete all production documentation in compliance with data integrity principles.
  • Report any compliance, quality, or safety issues to supervisors and the Quality Assurance department.
  • Upon obtaining full training and qualifications, carry out environmental monitoring duties.

Candidate Profile

  • Exceptional attention to detail with an ability to follow procedures meticulously.
  • Dependable, proactive, and conscientious about safety.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous exposure to pharmaceutical, biotechnology or GMP manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working in cleanroom conditions.
  • Background in regulated manufacturing settings such as food production, medical devices, or healthcare-related manufacturing.
