Role Impact

As a Founding AI Engineer / Data Scientist, your role will extend beyond maintaining current models to shaping the future AI architecture. You will contribute to customer-facing features including personalized recommendation algorithms, multimodal biomarker assessments from video, audio, text, and behavior, predictive health analytics, AI-driven clinical reasoning and protocol development, and foundational elements for conversational medical agents. Additionally, you will help build the company’s ML infrastructure, deployment workflows, and data backbone as the platform grows.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, evaluate, and deploy machine learning models using diverse multimodal data.
• Create production-ready ML solutions primarily with Python and PyTorch.
• Develop recommendations and decision-support tools that provide measurable benefits to users.
• Handle complex datasets including audio, video, imaging, sensor data, and clinical records.
• Build reliable data pipelines and contribute to overall ML platform architecture.
• Prototype and integrate cutting-edge AI approaches such as agentic and reasoning systems.
• Work closely with product, engineering, and domain specialists to translate research into practical features.
• Define engineering best practices, experimental protocols, and model performance monitoring processes.
• Keep updated on trends and advancements in applied AI, healthcare ML, and production ML technologies.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD degree in Machine Learning, Statistics, Computer Science, or related quantitative fields.
• Significant industry experience in applied machine learning or data science (generally over 4 years, or at least 1 year post-PhD).
• Strong programming proficiency in Python and solid software engineering foundations.
• Practical experience with PyTorch or similar deep learning frameworks.
• Deep understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and experimental design.
• Experience deploying ML models into production environments.
• Knowledge of recommendation systems, signal processing, or multimodal data modeling.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high ownership requirements.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated sectors.
• Published or applied significant research contributions.
• Familiarity with large language model orchestration, AI agents, or reasoning-focused architectures.
• Understanding of MLOps, model monitoring, and scalable deployment methods.
• Exposure to clinical or biomedical datasets.
