Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fixed Plant Maintenance Coordinator to implement and manage maintenance planning systems, ensuring robust operation and availability of plant equipment within a mining environment. This contracted, onsite role is based in Bo, Southern Province, Sierra Leone.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and uphold maintenance planning frameworks, standards, and master data from project initiation through commissioning and production startup.
- Design and update preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance schedules tailored to equipment criticality.
- Formulate annual shutdown strategies along with detailed shutdown or campaign work packages, including scope definition, resource allocation, critical path analysis, and cost projections.
- Create and manage weekly and monthly maintenance timetables while overseeing and prioritizing maintenance backlogs.
- Develop maintenance task lists, job plans, bills of materials, and spare parts requirements for smooth operations.
- Maintain and populate the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) with accurate equipment data, maintenance plans, job details, and scheduling.
- Collaborate closely with the Reliability Engineering team to enhance equipment availability, dependability, and overall plant efficiency.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) initiatives for major equipment breakdowns and production losses, integrating insights into future maintenance plans.
- Track and continuously improve planning key performance indicators such as schedule compliance, backlog volume, and preventive maintenance adherence.
- Ensure compliance of maintenance plans and tasks with statutory regulations, engineering norms, and the Zero Harm safety philosophy practiced by FG Gold.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, with preference for candidates holding professional engineering registration.
- A minimum of 8 to 10 years’ experience in mining or mineral processing maintenance, including substantial background in maintenance planning or scheduling roles.
- Demonstrated capability in developing preventive, breakdown, and shutdown maintenance strategies, preferably on Greenfield gold or mineral processing projects.
- Proven experience in conducting RCA and RCFA, working collaboratively with Reliability Engineering teams.
- Strong proficiency with CMMS software, including SAP PM, Maximo, Pronto, or Ellipse.
- Experience in African gold mining projects is considered an advantage.
- Fluency in English is required.
