Fire Systems Specialist

Job Overview

We seek a skilled Fire Systems Specialist to design, implement, test, and maintain fire alarm systems in full accordance with Qatar Civil Defense (QCD) standards, NFPA codes, and Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) to ensure operational safety and regulatory adherence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop designs for fire alarm and detection systems tailored to project specifics.
• Draft detailed shop drawings, layout plans, schematic diagrams, and Bill of Quantities (BOQs).
• Ensure every design meets QCD regulations, NFPA 72 standards, and QCS requirements precisely.
• Choose suitable components and equipment for fire alarm systems.
• Oversee on-site installation activities and supervise workforce.
• Conduct testing, commissioning, and official system handover processes.
• Confirm installations comply with QCD approvals and NFPA guidelines.
• Arrange and coordinate inspections with QCD authorities.
• Implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs on fire alarm systems.
• Diagnose and repair system faults to maintain continuous operation and compliance.
• Ensure all stages comply rigorously with QCD, NFPA, and QCS regulations.
• Prepare and submit documentation necessary for gaining QCD approvals.
• Communicate effectively with QCD inspectors and regulators for approvals and inspections.
• Create technical reports, operation and maintenance manuals, and accurate as-built drawings.
• Maintain comprehensive records consistent with QCD and QCS documentation guidelines.
• Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and project teams to ensure regulatory and safety standards are met.
• Manage project timelines, quality standards, and compliance demands.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Possession of a valid Qatar Driving License is mandatory.
• Holder of a valid QID and eligibility for visa transfer.
• Certified with at least UPDA Grade C accreditation.
• Approved by QCD as a Fire Alarm Engineer.
• Between 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in fire alarm system projects with QCD approval requirements.
• Thorough knowledge of Qatar Construction Specifications and NFPA codes.

Technical Skills

• Comprehensive understanding of fire alarm system components and architecture.
• Expertise in Qatar Civil Defense regulations, NFPA 72, and QCS standards.
• Experience working with various major fire alarm system brands.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent design software for preparation of technical drawings.
