Overview
Coty is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to become a vital member of our Finance team based in Montreal or Toronto. The successful candidate will report to the Finance Manager and play an important role in supporting the organization’s financial performance through detailed planning, forecasting, and analysis. Ideal applicants will have between 2 to 5 years of relevant experience and a strong aptitude for collaboration with various departments to aid strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Compile monthly financial reports incorporating variance analysis comparing budget, forecast, and previous year results.
- Evaluate revenue streams, expenditures, margins, and operating costs to detect significant patterns, risks, and growth opportunities.
- Create and update complex financial models to support business planning and assess different scenarios.
- Collaborate with commercial, operations, and other functional teams to understand drivers behind financial performance.
- Prepare presentations, dashboards, and financial summaries for leadership reviews.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analyses and contribute to special projects as needed.
- Ensure the precision and consistency of financial data by conducting reconciliations and validations.
- Drive continuous enhancements in FP&A processes, reporting tools, and methodologies.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related area.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in FP&A or related financial analysis roles.
- Progress towards professional credentials such as CPA, CFA, or MBA is considered advantageous.
- Solid knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel including financial modeling and usage of complex formulas.
- Experience with ERP and planning software like SAP, Oracle, or Hyperion is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills paired with effective problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to communicate financial data clearly to non-finance audiences.
- Excellent organizational skills that enable juggling multiple priorities.
- Proactive, detail-focused, and committed to continual process improvements.
