Role overview

The Finance Director is responsible for the full finance function, with accountability for financial strategy, governance, and overall performance. This position is expected to be about 75% hands-on, with close involvement in planning, analysis, cash oversight, reporting, and day-to-day finance operations, while also guiding the wider finance organization. The role connects accounting, planning, and control so that reporting is accurate, controls are strong, and decisions are driven by reliable data in a multi-entity SaaS setting.

Finance leadership and strategy

• Create and implement a finance strategy that supports business growth.
• Work directly with the CEO and leadership group on major decisions while personally handling financial analysis and recommendations.
• Make sure financial performance stays aligned with business goals through active involvement in planning and execution.
• Take ownership of the finance technology stack, including systems direction, automation plans, data quality, and the use of AI to improve finance workflows, controls, and decision support.
• Lead or supervise finance systems and data capabilities, with responsibility for finance tools and resources.

Governance, control, and compliance

• Own finance policies, control frameworks, and compliance structures across the group.
• Ensure strong audit, tax, and regulatory compliance across all entities and jurisdictions.

Core finance accountability

• Be directly responsible for key finance processes such as order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, reporting, and tax, staying closely involved in execution when required.
• Ensure ownership is clearly defined and work flows smoothly across finance teams, while stepping in personally on urgent matters and critical deliverables.
• Own group tax compliance across all entities, including transfer pricing, withholding tax, corporate income tax, and innovation box compliance, with timely filing and strong governance.

Holding company support

• Support the holding company across the group, including VPB and innovation box compliance.
• Lead transfer pricing work for the holding company, including the model, master file, and coordination with other group entities.
• Oversee intragroup loans, consolidated financial statements, and external audit coordination.
• Manage corporate administration items such as the UBO register, organization chart, dividend tax filings, and related-party documentation coordination.
• Act as the global end-responsible owner for banking and payments.

Performance, planning, and analysis

• Personally drive forecasting, financial modelling, variance analysis, and scenario planning.
• Take direct responsibility for OPEX, cash flow, working capital, and liquidity management.
• Lead KPI tracking with revenue and technology teams across CAC, CLTV, and gross margin through hands-on analysis and business partnership.

Leadership expectations

• Lead the Head of Accounting and Head of Financial Planning and Controlling while staying closely involved in core finance work.
• Build a scalable, high-performing global finance organization with a practical, hands-on leadership style.

Qualifications

This role calls for more than 10 years of finance experience, ideally gained in tech or SaaS businesses with recurring revenue models. Candidates should bring strong expertise in financial controls, compliance, cost management, cash flow, working capital, forecasting, modelling, and financial process improvement. Experience in supporting strategic planning, including areas such as M&A, product development, and ROI, is important. The role also requires at least 7 years of experience leading and developing high-performing finance and IT teams, with an emphasis on succession planning and employee engagement.
