Role Overview

This role requires an experienced leader to manage comprehensive film distribution initiatives, including theatrical and digital releases, partnerships, market expansion, and distribution operations. The candidate will oversee all aspects of release planning, strategy, stakeholder relationships, platform coordination, financial performance, and audience analytics to ensure content reaches targeted viewers via sustainable channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute film distribution strategies, release schedules, regional plans, and channel-specific approaches aligned with portfolio and business goals.
  • Manage full cycle distribution across theatrical, streaming, digital sales, broadcast, physical formats, airline and hospitality sectors, and other authorized platforms.
  • Create and maintain release calendars, windowing plans, digital strategies, and audience targeting methodologies per territory and platform.
  • Collaborate closely with acquisitions, marketing, sales, operations, partnerships, finance, legal, analytics, PR, and executive teams to ensure smooth launches.
  • Build and nurture partnerships with cinemas, streaming services, broadcasters, online retailers, distributors, exhibitors, airlines, and hospitality industry players.
  • Assess market opportunities, audience insights, competitor activities, pricing, timing, and platform performance across territories.
  • Coordinate the delivery of film assets including DCPs, masters, subtitles, dubbing, promotional materials, artwork, metadata, and trailers.
  • Supervise distribution agreements, licensing terms, rights management, revenue-sharing models, minimum guarantees, and contracts alongside legal and finance partners.
  • Track and analyze box office returns, streaming metrics, digital transactions, licensing income, audience engagement, market share, and profitability metrics.
  • Prepare forecasts, revenue models, release scenarios, and market analysis to support strategic decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE film/media regulations, classification, censorship standards, intellectual property laws, licensing, and international policies.
  • Monitor key performance indicators such as revenue, admissions, digital sales, licensing, partner effectiveness, costs, and ROI.
  • Conduct post-release reviews, market evaluations, audits, and continuous process improvements.
  • Manage budgets related to distribution, marketing support, content deliveries, localization, external vendors, and technology investments.
  • Drive digital transformation via AI-powered audience forecasting, content recommendation engines, predictive revenue modeling, automated rights management, and analytics.
  • Use tools like Salesforce, SAP S/4HANA, Oracle NetSuite, Power BI, Tableau, Google Analytics, DRM systems, rights platforms, content management, and distribution reporting for performance optimization.
  • Develop executive dashboards, performance reporting, revenue forecasts, and strategic presentations for leadership.
  • Lead and mentor distribution teams, release coordinators, sales, and operational staff fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Film Studies, Media Management, Entertainment Business, Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Economics, or related disciplines.
  • Advanced degrees (Master's/MBA) in Film Business, Media Management, Entertainment Management, Marketing or similar fields are valuable.
  • Certifications in Film Distribution, Entertainment Management, Digital Media, Project Management or related areas preferred.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in film distribution, media sales, theatrical or digital content distribution, or streaming.
  • A minimum of 2 years managing releases, distribution partnerships, territory strategies, licensing programs, or leading multidisciplinary distribution teams is ideal.
  • In-depth knowledge of distribution channels including theatrical, streaming platforms, licensing, release windows, rights management, audience analytics, and entertainment economics.
  • Proficiency with platforms such as Salesforce, SAP S/4HANA, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Office, Power BI, Tableau, Google Analytics, DRM, rights and content management systems, and distribution analytics.
  • Experience or familiarity with AI-driven audience analytics, predictive release modeling, automated rights management, streaming analytics, and emerging digital platforms is a strong plus.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, financial modeling, project management, organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple simultaneous releases and initiatives balancing demand, commercial targets, licensing, schedules, partnerships, budgets, and regulations.
  • Comfort working remotely with global teams and stakeholders, with readiness for occasional travel to industry events, distributor meetings, markets, festivals, and launches as needed.
