External Security Vetting Analyst

Ernst & Young (EY) invites applications for the position of External Security Vetting Analyst based in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. This role is integral to processing and managing personnel security clearance applications across multiple levels including Baseline, Negative Vetting Level 1 and 2, and Positive Vetting. Responsibilities

• Handle security clearance cases with thoroughness, ensuring compliance with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and EY's internal standards.
• Utilize electronic case management systems to optimize the clearance process.
• Provide informed recommendations on clearance outcomes while managing complex and sensitive vetting cases.
• Communicate with clearance subjects and conduct interviews when required to gather pertinent information.

Required Skills and Attributes

• Exceptional attention to detail to analyze extensive datasets and identify security risks.
• Proven commitment to quality assurance practices in maintaining high standards throughout the vetting process.
• Strong time management skills to meet deadlines and service level agreements despite competing priorities.
• Prior vetting experience in government or comparable high-security environments is essential.

Preferred Qualifications and Competencies

• Minimum Negative Vetting Level 1 clearance, with potential to advance to Negative Vetting Level 2 as needed.
• Certificate IV in Government (Personnel Security Vetting).
• Analytical thinking encompassing information gathering, assessment, and risk evaluation related to national security.
