Role Overview
The Executive (Youth Development) is essential in fostering youth participation, managing volunteers, and executing large-scale programmes. This position is accountable for all phases of the volunteer lifecycle, including recruitment, training, deployment, and engagement, while creating youth-centric initiatives that promote leadership, skill-building, and positive community impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, coordinate, and implement youth development and volunteer programmes in collaboration with strategic partners ensuring alignment with developmental goals.
- Oversee volunteer recruitment, onboarding, placement, and ongoing management, matching volunteers to suitable roles aligned with their interests and growth areas.
- Develop and facilitate training sessions and workshops to equip youth volunteers with the necessary skills and values for effective leadership and community service.
- Coordinate complex, high-participation youth events requiring thorough logistical planning and collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with social service organisations, corporate entities, schools, and community groups to enhance outreach efforts.
- Track volunteer development progress and provide guidance, fostering leadership growth through structured development pathways.
- Manage programme budgets, operational procedures, and documentation to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Maintain detailed volunteer records and produce reports to measure programme success and contribution.
- Develop and execute strategies for volunteer engagement, recognition, and retention, including events and feedback systems.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned to support overall departmental and organisational goals.
Knowledge and Skills
- Understanding of volunteer management, youth outreach, and programme coordination.
- Experience handling large-scale events, multi-party coordination, and public-facing programmes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom and Google Meet; basic Canva skills advantageous.
- Strong project management and time management capabilities for managing multi-stage programmes.
- Operational logistics expertise, strong communication, facilitation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with youths, teams, and external partners.
- Experience in stakeholder relationship management.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Community Development, or related disciplines.
- Prior experience in youth engagement, volunteer coordination, or programme operations is advantageous.
- Comfortable working with large youth groups in dynamic settings.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends in support of programme objectives.
