Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Establishment Officer to become part of the Green Triangle Forests Team, located at the GT Forests Office in Mt Gambier, South Australia. This full-time role involves supporting plantation establishment and silviculture operations across our estate to ensure safe, timely, and quality program delivery.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in plantation establishment activities such as site cultivation and seasonal silviculture tasks, facilitating field program execution.
- Operate, inspect, and maintain heavy machinery and equipment to promote safety and operational reliability.
- Participate in the planning, scheduling, comprehensive reporting, and record-keeping to comply with quality and program standards.
- Supervise small teams and contractors, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality benchmarks, budget constraints, and deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with neighbours, contractors, and internal stakeholders and engage actively in fire readiness and response initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Experience or keen interest in machine operation, forestry, agriculture, plantation establishment, or timber industry.
- Knowledge of plantation silviculture processes, forest operations, and quality control.
- Capability to safely operate and maintain heavy plant and cultivation machinery.
- Excellent skills in communication, organization, teamwork, contractor coordination, and reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel applications.
- Possession of a current Australian driver's license and readiness to participate in firefighting training and activities.
