Engineer/Assistant Manager - Instrumentation

Job Overview

The role involves planning, executing, organizing, and managing resources to oversee all project-related instrumentation activities within the spinning sections. You will be held accountable for the timely construction and implementation of all spinning instrumentation according to schedule, while alerting to any potential risks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field instrumentation reviews and coordinate with vendors and engineering contractors.
• Handle material management for the spinning section, including requisitioning, purchase order tracking, inspection, approvals, and goods receipt at the stores.
• Promote ownership mentality and cultivate a safe working environment to achieve unit safety goals.
• Ensure accurate and timely progress data is provided to the planning team, encompassing updates, scheduling, and risk assessment.
• Facilitate contractor progress and project milestones.
• Implement automation and packaged system instrumentation effectively.
• Manage the deployment of the baler auto bale packing system.
• Lead new project concepts and processes implementation.
• Supervise installation and commissioning of PA and fire alarm systems in the field.
• Oversee complex project implementations, including churn sequence logic design and troubleshooting.
• Manage various measuring instruments such as PT, LT, FT, TT, TE, XV, AT, and WIT, along with final control elements (XV & CV).
• Coordinate manpower management, including contract labor deployment.

Key Result Areas

• Planning and Execution: Develop look-ahead and daily plans matching master schedules; ensure contract manpower is optimally assigned.
• Engineering Coordination: Serve as liaison between engineering contractors and suppliers to resolve technical issues and secure necessary approvals.
• Material Management: Assist in verifying BOQs from detail engineering contractors to ensure completeness; generate purchase requisitions and oversee procurement lifecycle from order to store receipt; facilitate QAP approval and inspection release; track issuance and consumption of materials.
• Safety & Statutory Compliance: Plan and implement safety initiatives to create safe work environments and fulfill statutory requirements; enforce HSE procedures; identify and correct unsafe conditions or behaviors; conduct scheduled safety observations and promote participation in safety training; report and investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses.
