Direct Entry Captain (Fixed Term Contract)

Role Overview

Singapore Airlines is hiring Direct Entry Captains for a fixed-term appointment. This opportunity is based in Singapore and is intended for experienced pilots who can operate Airbus A350 or Airbus A380 aircraft.

Eligibility and Licence Requirements

• You must hold a valid Class 1 Medical Certificate that is recognised by, or can be verified by, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS).
• You need a valid Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) with an A350 or A380 type rating that is recognised by, or can be validated by, CAAS. If you hold a foreign licence, eligibility can be checked using the referenced document.
• Able to communicate in English to the standard required for inflight radio-telephony operations, with ICAO English Level 5 or higher.
• Minimum height required is 1.58 m to ensure adequate reach and safe handling of all flight deck controls.

Experience Needed

• At least 7,000 total flying hours are required.
• Within that total, you must have 3,000 Pilot-in-Command (PIC) hours on commercial jets in international operations.
• You should also have at least 1,500 PIC hours specifically on either the A350 or the A380.
• You must have a minimum of two years of captaincy experience on either the A350 or A380 before the date of application.

Selection Process

Shortlisted applicants may go through multiple assessment stages, which can include interviews, simulator evaluations, and medical examinations.

Training and Placement

Candidates who are selected will receive the required training and will be assigned to either the A350 or A380 fleet.

Contract Terms

The appointment is on a fixed-term contract of up to 12 months.
